Common Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know before sending your slide.

How do I send my slide in for an optic cut?

Browse our services page, pick your platform and optic footprint, select your finish, and check out. You will get a confirmation email with shipping instructions. Strip your slide (remove barrel and recoil spring), print your order confirmation, pack it in a USPS flat rate box with bubble wrap, and ship it to the address in your email.

How far do I need to strip my slide?

Remove the barrel and recoil spring assembly. The internals (firing pin, extractor, etc.) can stay in the slide. We will handle the rest. Do not send your barrel, recoil spring, frame, or any ammunition.

How should I ship my slide?

We recommend a USPS flat rate box. Wrap the slide in bubble wrap to prevent movement during shipping. Include a printed copy of your order confirmation. We strongly recommend adding shipping insurance. Ship to the address provided in your confirmation email.

Which coating: Cold Blue, Cerakote, or Nitride?

Cold blue is included with most optic cuts and provides a traditional blued finish. Good for light use and range guns. Cerakote offers excellent wear and corrosion resistance with color options. Great for carry guns and hard-use firearms. Nitride is the hardest and most durable option, providing factory-level corrosion resistance, but requires 2-4 weeks as it is sent to a partner facility.

Can you install my sights or optic?

Yes. If you send your optic or sights along with your slide, we can install them before shipping it back. Just note it in your order or include a note in the box. Suppressor-height sights are also available for purchase on our products page.

Can I drop my slide off in person?

We are located in Crossville, Tennessee and do accept local drop-offs by appointment. Please contact us ahead of time to schedule a drop-off so we can make sure someone is available.

What is your return policy?

We stand behind every cut. If there is an issue with our machining work, contact us and we will make it right. Due to the nature of machining services (permanent modification to your slide), we cannot offer refunds on completed work, but we will always fix any quality issue at no additional charge.

Do you need the channel liner removed from Glock slides?

No. Leave the channel liner in. We will handle it during the machining process and reinstall it before shipping your slide back.

Can you cut a slide or optic not listed on your website?

Possibly. We are always expanding our offerings. If you have a slide or optic footprint that is not listed, contact us with the details and we will let you know if we can accommodate the request.

Is the cold blue sufficient to prevent corrosion?

Cold blue provides basic corrosion protection and works well for range guns and firearms stored in controlled environments. For a carry gun or anything exposed to sweat, moisture, or heavy use, we recommend upgrading to cerakote or nitride for significantly better long-term protection.
