Description
This is a service to cut your factory Glock slide to allow direct mounting of an optic (aftermarket slides cut with prior approval). Factory optic ready slides cannot be cut unless specifically stated. We only offer cuts for the models listed on this page, if you have any questions or have a model not listed, please reach out [email protected]
Summary of this service:
- .125″ depth of cut
- Fits DPP pattern optics – Leupold DPP and Vortex optics are the most common.
- Mounts with standard M4 x .7 screws – we do not supply them with this cut. Leupold and Vortex provide ones that work well.
- Extractor side hole is shallow due to the extractor pin running below it, you only have 1/8″ of thread engagement on that side, so be sure to check that when mounting your optic/screws.
- Please note: Sig optics are hit or miss, even though they claim DPP footprint, their optics are not to the same standard as Leupold and fitment varies; we cut to the Leupold standard.
Recommended Sights for Lower 1/3 Co-witness: Due to the tall check height of the Leupold DPP, we recommend Ameriglo 7XL irons (we do not stock) for the vortex optics, the ‘OPTIC HEIGHT’ irons we stock will give a low cowitness, or you can use an Ameriglo 2XL height iron.
IRON LOCATION: Due to the length of this footprint, the optic needs to sit in the rear position and will be cut over your factory dovetail. You can opt to have a new dovetail cut in front of the optic or you can get a racecut with no rear dovetail. For optics like the vortex defender XL that overhang forward of the optic footprint, you may have interference issues with the iron sight.
COATINGS: Three refinishing options are available. Cold blue is a chemical that reacts with bare steel and offers very little protection, but allows the refinishing of just the machined area rather the the full slide. The cerakote and nitride options are for the entire slide. We use H series oven cure cerakote and offer 5 colors. The black nitride is a OEM style metal heat treatment that improves surface hardness and gives the slide higher wear resistance compared to the cerakote. Note that nitride lead times are not guaranteed and may take 3-4 weeks.

You will receive an email notification once we receive the slide (typically the day after it gets delivered to us) and a second email when it ships back to you with a tracking number.
TIMELINE: We will complete the work in the stated turnaround time (Mon-Fri) or less, including coating, after receiving your slide.
Note: Your order will be returned to the address provided at checkout. Follow instructions and include a copy of your confirmation email when shipping your slide to us to avoid increased turnaround time.
